"Network operators must be confident that they have up-to-date software, that they have activated DNSSEC and that their systems automatically update their keys, or that they have taken the necessary actions up to 1600 UTC on October 11, 2017 to manually update the new key," he added.
Changing or "renewing" keys is an important step to keeping global DNS safe. It is highly compatible with widely accepted operational practices that, if needed, provide a key security infrastructure that can support password change.
